Community

Interstate Concrete & Asphalt and other Oldcastle Materials companies are involved, engaged civic partners in the communities where we live and work.  Our companies strive to safeguard the health, safety, and environmental well-being of their neighborhoods.  Our employees have close personal ties with their local schools, churches, and businesses.

We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity across the nation in their mission to provide affordable housing for all.

Whether hosting grade school students for educational tours or developing the next green building material, Interstate Concrete & Asphalt proactively seeks ways to strengthen relationships and improve outcomes in our communities.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life is the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society.  Interstate entered a team led by Patti DeArmond.  The team walked to raise $1,000 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Hard Hats & Hot Dogs Event

At this annual event, Interstate employees work hands on with area high school students interested in construction.  The event is hosted by the Idaho Department of Labor and sponsored by several local businesses, including our company.  It is a positive way to introduce Kootenai County students to a variety of career opportunities in construction and manufacturing.

Lake City High School Student Tour

Interstate hosted a group of special needs students from LC High School in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  The students were given a tour of the Wyoming Road facility in Rathdrum.  The tour included a close look at the concrete and asphalt operations.  Interstate frequently hosts groups during the year and we value the opportunity to interact with students and teachers in our community.
